#3 with the Geer's

Meet Amy.
She's on the right...so many people confuse us as sisters. While she is not my sister biologically, I sure do love her like one. God brought her into my life August 2007 while working in Greensboro, NC, and although we've been friends less than 5 years~sometimes it feels like I've known her for a lifetime. She was a tremendous friend as I suffered heartache while trying to expand our family, and one of my biggest cheerleaders who prayed Judah home. Thus, it was so neat to see the Lord make us mothers of boys only a few months apart. We are blessed.

This was our third beach trip with the Geer's. The first (pre-kiddos) = staying up late, sleeping in late, more margaritas, lots of card games and Wii, loud fireworks, and doing whatever we pleased, clearly...

The second trip, while still tons of fun, was drastically different, as we were new moms with a 4 month-old and 7 month-old. This trip included VERY little sleep, lots of spit-up, more coffee, too many minutes of "new mom talk," and pacis on the beach?!
Cannot believe how little our two munchkins were here (notice Carson is not even sitting up independently) so I can't help but insert this comparison now...

They had so much fun playing together and needless to say this trip with toddlers was also different!

I'd like to think they remembered each other...

but they became fast friends regardless.

This time around, our beach trip included....

A trip to the aquarium

Lots of beach time!

I'm not sure who had more fun playing in the sand...Judah or Jeff?

And Judah even got to fly a kite for the first time!

And perhaps the coolest was our Easter Egg Hunt on the beach. It was beautiful and so much fun! Gotta run, so I guess the Hunt is going to get its own post. Until next time...

We're Going on an Egg Hunt

This week, we hosted an impromptu Easter Egg Hunt on our front lawn (okay, side patch of green near our condo...must improvise in the city :-) Judah's best girls, Marilyn & Sasha, came over for a little play, Easter snack, and egg hunt. They were very excited to say the least.

Ready

Set

Go!

There were some high

And some low

They went fast

They went slow

There was stealing trading

And parading

Shooting "hoops" and jumping

Digging

And Dumping

Time to count, 1-2-3

Look Mom, I'm happy as can be!

Hope your Easter is a happy one! We're off to the beach to celebrate our Risen Savior :-)

Around Town

Between a birthday bash on Saturday and a baptism celebration on Sunday, we were still able to fit in a little family sightseeing around the city we now call home. DC was in full bloom during Judah's birthday weekend, and the scenery around town is one of the many reasons we love it here.

Before moving here, I'd always wanted to visit DC during the Cherry Blossom Festival.
Now I get to enjoy this beautiful sight for the next 2 years :-)

The scenery provided the perfect backdrop for a photo shoot :-)

The highlight for Judah was chasing the ducks! He squatted and waddled with his new friends :-)

Perfect ending to a perfect weekend. We are blessed.

Bday Bash, Part 2

Judah's second birthday will be difficult to top, as we not only celebrated his life on earth but his life in Christ. It was so special that he was baptized on March 18th, and even more special that we shared this day with family and friends. We were a bit nervous with how Judah would do being with our pastor in front of a large church, but he did beautifully and took it all in. It was such a special day!

The Birthday Boy

Pure joy

Thankful for the hand bells and children's choir who performed at the beginning of the service and kept Judah's attention.

It's time! Judah listened intently as Dr. Norris walked him down the aisle.

Time to go back to Mommy and Daddy

Now Mommy and Daddy share a glimpse of our story and a full heart of thanks
for the gift God has granted us.

Incredibly grateful for God's covenant with his children

Time to celebrate!

Judah and his buds were hungry :-)

Thank you, Lord, for this day, our son, and your Son.
